When They Were Still Fledgelings – The Housemartins

Housemartins

Once upon a time, the late John Peel was excited about a band called The Housemartins. Taking his advice, a very young Derek Walker netted them on their first tour, before a small gig outside Aylesbury.

Before anything in everyday life was digital and a good decade before Norman Cook became Fatboy Slim and married Zoe Ball, the Hull-based band spoke about pop, politics and power.

The Greenbelt magazine Strait printed the piece and Tim Walker was there to take the pics.
